We built Alma to help you study smarter. Everything we collect is used solely to make the app work for you and keep it running smoothly.

• Text extracted from audio recordings, documents, and PDFs
• Study materials you create or upload

By default, your content is stored securely in the cloud. You can enable local storage mode in app settings to keep all data on your device and prevent cloud syncing.

Usage Data:

• Feature usage to manage free tier limits
• Subscription status

Technical Data:

• Crash reports and diagnostics
• Device identifier for account security and advertising (advertising requires your consent)

2. How We Use Your Information

App Functionality:

• Provide authentication and account access
• Store and sync your study materials
• Manage subscription features
• Manage device access and prevent unauthorized use
• Fix bugs and improve app performance

Advertising:

• Display ads to support the free tier
• Personalize ads if you grant tracking permission

3. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following services to operate Alma:

• Supabase: Backend infrastructure and data storage
• Google AdMob: Ad serving (with your permission for personalization)
• RevenueCat: Subscription management
• Sentry: Crash reporting and error monitoring

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. App Tracking Transparency

On iOS, we request permission before tracking you for personalized advertising. You can:

• Choose whether to allow tracking when prompted
• Change your preference anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

5. Data Security

We protect your information using:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure authentication via one-time passwords
• Cloud storage with access controls

6. Data Retention

We retain your information while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data instantly at any time from the bottom of the Settings screen in the app.

7. Age Requirements

Alma is designed for students 13 and older. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before using Alma.

You have control over your information. You can:

• Delete your account and all your data instantly from the bottom of the Settings screen in the app
• Choose whether to allow personalized ads in iOS Settings
